Two week countdown to Lincoln Castle Revealed!

In just two weeks the East Gate will open on 1^st April with a fanfare, and Lincoln Castle will be revealed; resplendent following a major four year conservation and development programme.

The final stages of work are underway to ensure that the new home for Lincoln’s Magna Carta – the David PJ Ross Magna Carta Vault – is environmentally ready, and the last fragments of gold leaf have been carefully applied to the lettering of the clauses on the Great Charter Wall.

Other work continues…..experts at the Cathedral Workshop are taking care of the rot found in the Castle’s East Gate, landscaping is taking shape in the Castle grounds, and boxes of new items for the gift shop are being carefully unpacked.
