As 2015 marks the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta – the Great Charter of Liberty – Lincoln is celebrating with a range of events spanning across the year.

The Lincoln Magna Carta Lecture Series 2015 brings together a programme of inspiring and insightful talks and presentations around the themes of Magna Carta, liberty and justice.  During the year organisations across the city will welcome a range of distinguished historians, academics and specialists in their fields who will present different perspectives and contexts around the series themes.

Lord Patrick Cormack DL FSA, Chairman of the Historic Lincoln Trust, begins the lecture series with his presentation, ‘2015: The Year of Pilgrimage’, on Friday 30th January.

Lord Cormack is a highly respected politician, historian and author, with an active involvement in a number of charitable organisations, including Chairman of the History of Parliament Trust.

The lecture will be held in the beautiful Chapter House at Lincoln Cathedral – a befitting setting for this event. The lecture will begin at 7.00pm and run until 8.00pm, and tickets priced at £5 each can be purchased in the Cathedral shop and through the Cathedral website.
