Lincoln Cathedral Connected Update

As the excitement of our HLF announcement subsides, our attention turns to making ‘Lincoln Cathedral Connected’ a reality.

Between now and spring 2020 the Cathedral will undergo an incredible transformation; new architectural lighting will be installed, extensive landscaping will take place, a visitor centre will be built and the Cathedral’s precious architecture will be conserved. Before the building work starts in 2018 there will be a multitude of ground works and surveys dealing with archaeology, drainage, geo-technical investigations, testing of materials…the list is endless!

A large part of delivering the project will fall to the Cathedral’s staff, volunteers and community, and their support has been, and continues to be, essential in making the project a success.

It would be easy to be daunted by the prospect of all this work happening in such a short period of time, yet the strength of our vision and the professional team helping us to deliver it makes this a challenge to relish.

We look forward to you joining us on this epic journey over the next few years!
