Lincoln Christmas Market turns 30 this week!
The famous Lincoln Christmas Market opens this week, celebrating its 30th anniversary. This is a special time of year in uphill Lincoln with the bustling festive stalls and seasonal entertainment spreading throughout the winding streets, and promising to be a wonderful and atmospheric experience for everyone visiting.
The four day event begins with the official opening ceremony at 5.30pm on Thursday, 5 December at Lincoln Cathedral with Evensong, followed by opening speeches which will take place outside the western entrance to the Cathedral.
The annual event welcomes the deputy Oberburgermeister of Neustadt , Lincoln’s twin town, who will join the Dean of the Cathedral, the very Reverend Philip Buckler and the Mayor of Lincoln, Patrick Vaughan in the opening ceremony.
Despite the major improvements underway, Lincoln Castle is a key part of the Christmas Market and will be welcoming festive stalls and visitors into its grounds once again.
