The series of special events associated with Lincolnshire’s Great Exhibition continues during September.

•  Lecture series at The Collection

Enjoy the third and final evening talk by a guest lecturer, and an opportunity to see the exhibition in The Collection ‘after hours’.

Tennyson, poet of Lincolnshire – guest lecturer Professor Leonee Ormond

Alfred Tennyson was born in Somersby and lived there during the formative years of his early life. The lecture will consider the very considerable effect of the wolds and of the Lincolnshire coast upon his poetry.

Professor Leonee Ormond is Professor Emerita of Victorian Studies at King’s College London. She is a specialist in nineteenth-century literature, Alfred Lord Tennyson, J.M. Barrie and George Bernard Shaw.

The lecture start at 7.00pm in The Collection Auditorium, Lincoln and will be followed by an opportunity to view the exhibition until 9.00pm. Ticket price: £12 per person for each lecture, including a glass of wine.

•   Exclusive ‘after hours’ viewing at The Collection

 Enjoy a glass of wine and an introductory talk by a senior curator, followed by a viewing of Lincolnshire’s Great Exhibition at The Collection. The evening event will take place on Monday 21 September, from 6.30 – 8.00pm. Ticket price £8 per person for each event. Each evening will be limited to 100 people.
